Melody contacted Event Planner Provo Orem to coordinate her wedding. She said that we came highly recommended. Her first marriage took place when she was 25 at the court house. She thought she was ready for marriage because she had traveled the world and been on her own since the age of 17. But in reality, she knew very little about human nature and the general obstacles couples face in marriage. At 46, she was getting married for the 2nd time to a man in his early 30s. This time around, she wanted a simple, yet detailed wedding. One in which all their friends and family would be able to attend.
Event Design, Planning & Production
Over the top theatrics and glamour wasn’t her style. During our initial consultation, we sat down with Melody to outline what she was looking for and her expectations. We designed a wedding that was eclectic. There were elements of the bride and groom’s cultures. Mel’s style was boho chic, sophisticated and ethnic. These themes were woven throughout the celebrations. Event Planner Provo Orem took 100% control of the planning. Because our clients had demanding careers, it was imperative that we were able to plan and execute with minimal input. Our client had very discerning tastes. We were over the moon when they were in awe of the total production.
Between Provo and Orem, Utah, there are a myriad of venues to choose from. Clients can select from indoor and outdoor venues. We have a list of rustic and elegant locations. Our goal as event planners is to match the client’s tastes and preferences with an appropriate venue. For Melody and her fiancé, we chose an outdoor location for the wedding and decorated it with touches that mimicked their personalities. The reception was held indoors within a modern structure. Glass, wood and metal were the primary structural elements. Guests lounged on tufted velvet seating.
Mel and her fiancé were insistent on having home style cakes just like her grandma used to make. Because her roots were in the South, we researched the pastry traditions of that region. Our wedding planning team located an independent baker who was able to create three-layer caramel cakes, chocolate velvet and simple pound cakes and lemon icing with authenticity. Recognizing that each of our clients have unique tastes, cultures and histories, Event Planner Provo Orem has a list of more than competent pastry vendors at our finger tips. Whether you want a seven tiered cake, pies or cupcakes, we are able to help with the selection.
Bridal Gown Selection
For her first wedding, Mel and her fiancé wore matching red ensembles. Mel donned a red skirt suit while the groom sported a vintage collared red cashmere sweater. For her second and presumably last wedding, she wanted their attire to be formal without the stuffiness that usually accompanies most weddings. Based on her style preferences, we took her to two bridal shops in Orem. She discovered what she was looking for at the second bridal boutique. Mel chose a feathered gown in ombre hues of grey, grey/blue and off-white. Our wedding team possesses the professional skills to assist with every aspect of the wedding and reception, including gown selection.
